Small Bet Wins Council House Man £2.64 Million

David Robson, 36, is perhaps the luckiest Council House resident from Newcastle, England. Robson won a jackpot of £2.64 million ($4,326,547) at online casino Sky Vegas Millionaire's Club recently.

Living in his parent's council house with his partner and young daughter, he couldn't believe what he saw before him as the life-altering amount flashed on the screen. "I started shouting for my dad because I wanted someone to verify what I had seen on the screen. My mam was a bit concerned cause she thought something was wrong but I told her it might be something good," said Robson, following the lucky day.

Even after assurances, Robson still didn't sleep that night; it took a congratulatory call from personnel at Sky Vegas the day after his jackpot and an inspection of his online banking account before he was sure of his win. This is pretty typical of people with huge wins.

Something else that winners often do is quickly tell their bosses they won't be coming in for work. Though Robson had been employed for the last 17 years as a Driving Standards Agency analyst, David enjoyed informing his boss why he wouldn't be returning to work.

Now that he isn't working, Robson hopes to go on holiday to Canada with his family; after that, he will decide what to do and how to spend his new wealth. Of all the possibilities, Robson is planning on a new home for his family--and for his parents. "I have always fancied a house with a games room, a snooker table and a computer system and to think that is a possibility now is absolutely fabulous."
