Skill games market set for growth explosion

A new report published by iGaming Business has indentified the online skill gaming market as having huge growth potential over the forthcoming years.

The skill games market already enjoys success in the market and, according to industry insiders, is worth just over $382 million globally. This figure is set to rise to more than $472 by the end of 2025. However, the 'The Global Business of Skill Gaming' iGaming report suggests that by the end of 2025, the industry will have enjoyed a massive growth spurt and be worth $957 million.

Perhaps it was only a matter of time before our favourite childhood games became the latest area to undergo a sleek and sexy transformation, after witnessing the explosion in popularity of bingo and other such games that were once enjoyed by a relatively small age group. Now bingo is played by young and old fans across the globe.

As skill games make the transition onto the Internet they are attracting an increasing global audience of all ages. However, software developers must keep up with the technological demands made by today's gamers and are already looking to develop multi-player options, chat features and team versions of games. There is demand too for casino-style features such as cash prizes, jackpots, tournaments and wagers.

Some leading sites are already offering skill games to their customers. William Hill is promoting a range of skill games that include old favourites such as Backgammon, Dominoes and Gin Rummy, but with up-to-date features that make appealing to generations that may be lucky enough to not remember them when they were simple card and board games!
