UK Companies Paying the Price for Online Casino Gaming

Recently, a new survey, which was commissioned by Morse, a consulting firm, states that online casino gaming is costing English companies more than GBP 300 million yearly in lost productivity. In the research, results found that 30 percent of online casinos fans had used an online casino, bought a lottery ticket or made a bet while on the job, or knew someone who had done so. According to this survey, such employees would accumulate 13 hours of online casino gaming on the World Wide Web over a year’s time. According to the consulting firm, quick online casino bets build up to a substantial dent in company productivity. The rise in popularity of online casino gaming along with unsupervised Internet provided at the majority of offices and workplaces is blamed for tempting employees with less than a fully sustained focus in the office. Out of 664 office workers who were questioned for the survey, 38 percent of men admitted to online casino gaming at work, while 21 percent of women claimed the same.
Much controversy surrounds online casino gaming. This is why the US recently passed the UIGEA, or Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, banning online casino gaming for US players. The fear of gambling addiction and corruption has prompted other countries, such as France and Germany, to take a similar approach towards their citizens as well. Gambling addiction will always be a driving force behind online gambling bans, which the world will continue to see as time goes on.
