The shortlist for the highly coveted EGR Operator of the Year award was announced earlier this week. Organisers confirmed that BETFAIR, BET365, Bwin, BETCLICK, PartyGaming, 888 and William Hill have all made it into the shortlist and are in the running for the esteemed trophy. The winner will be announced on 3oth November in a ceremony at the EGR Awards dinner held in London’s Old Billingsgate market.
Among the names to make the shortlist was BETFAIR whose revenue was up an impressive 27% at year end. The company is currently celebrating their place in the year’s Power 50 leading operators. Meanwhile, Bet 365 holds a leading marketing position with users across over 200 countries across the globe with 70% of revenue generated outside the UK market. Also in the running is Bwin which came first in the Power 50 leading operators for the second year in a row. France’s market leader, BetCLICK, is similarly in with a chance and has made recent expansions into Benelux, Romania, Czech Republic, Hungary, and Romania.
In addition, PartyGaming has a strong claim to the title having attracted an enormous 630,000 new players throughout the course of the last year. 888’s recent launch of launch of Dragonfish, a business-to-business arm, makes the company a strong contender for the competitive award. Finally, William Hill’s collaboration with Playtech saw them purchase an additional 22 casinos plus four further poker rooms.
Casino operators and players across the world will be watching carefully to see who will scoop the prestigious prize. Meanwhile, organisers are counting down to the 30th November in what will undoubtedly be an event to remember.
